Our February 2020 Featured Member has quite an inspiring story of overcoming obstacles to create a healthier lifestyle! We love that Deborah George is a member of the 3 Peaks CrossFit family and hope you find her story as inspiring as we do:
Here’s a little more about Deb:
How did you find out about 3 Peaks:
I was first introduced to CrossFit by my daughter Mary. She kept at me for a few months to check it out. I’m so glad I did.
What (movement) would you love to never do again?
If I had a choice in never ever doing an exercise, I’d have to say lunges, any kind of lunges.
If you could make up your own workout, what would it be?
This may sound crazy. A WOD would have a few of the exercises I like such as fireballs, push jerks, dead lifts, slam balls, kettlebell swings, rowing. 😁
Tell us a little more about yourself:
I’m 50 yrs old I have 1 daughter 5 Sons, 4 grand babies, soon to be 5. I enjoy the outdoors, I like to do a variety of arts and crafts. I currently work for the IHC as a cage cashier, I have experience in retail sales and as a restaurant server.
I have several proud accomplishments. One is continuing to share, learn, and experience our traditional way of life as natives, second is my education in receiving my GED in 2010,
Cheat meal?
My favorite cheat food is chocolate cake!
Why 3 Peaks?
What I love most about 3 Peaks CrossFit is the positive atmosphere, the inspiration from others, the encouragement and support to keep going. Just to see the ambition and growth of each individual as they strive to their own self. Mind, body and spirit.
Something that others don’t know is …
I’m an award winning artist for my Petroglyph beadwork. I have several one of a kind pieces that have sold at high value in oral auctions. I also have a few sent overseas by private collector of native art.
I’d like to take this time to say thank you for selecting me for the February Featured Member. I truly do appreciate it. It’s a great stepping stone for a healthy future not only for myself, but to also show others that anything is possible when you put in hard work and truly believe in yourself! 💯
Way to go, Deborah!!!
You are doing an awesome job deb I’m proud of how far you have come from where you have been! Keep up the good work! You are a true inspiration! Make me want to look into CrossFit here in Washington!
