Ever have that pivotal moment when you realize, “WOW, my Journey is just beginning?”
Yea, me to, like about 1 month ago.
We haven’t made this crazy public just because we’ve been trying to process but our family has definitely endured trauma and a loss over the last 2 months ago.
First with my beloved husband contracting a bacterial infection that nearly took his life, followed by the loss of a baby we didn’t even know we were going to be having. Tough stuff, and definitely not the way I envisioned spending my last 2 months of 2017. It has definitely reminded me that no matter what season we are in, our journey has just begun.
However, I can tell you with 100% certainty, I have grown more in the last 2 months, than I believe I have, in any other season of my life. It hasn’t been pretty by any means. Life and death stuff kinda has a way at doing that to us I think. (If you’d like to read my personal blog to read the details, here’s the link, DIG DEEP. It’s definitely one of the most difficult blog posts I have had to write, but the rawness and realness I’m sure you’ll appreciate.
We’ve had incredible people standing and supporting us through this time at our Box, 3 Peaks CrossFit and also professionally as well. The team at 321Go Project has been instrumental in not only reminding me that we will get through this season, but also has been a family, helping me heal, offering an ear, and lifting us up reminding us of truths!! Thank you doesn’t seem to be enough.
If you’re anything like me, when it comes to journaling I’m awesome at the first 3-4 days. Then I flop! I’m the one that has 100’s of notebooks written in that have a few days in them, then I fall off the wagon and get busy. But have you ever thought that when we journal our journey it’s key to helping others or ourselves later on down the road? That became a very real thing for me last night!
This morning, I went back to one of those journals to see what I had wrote. My friends, if you haven’t done that in a while, I’d highly recommend doing it, it might just lift your spirits or remind you of some important truths you may just need to tell yourself.
Last year right around this time I was studying about Noah. The faith he had, the work he endured, and what it must of been like to be in his shoes while he was building this arc, to the people around him who thought he was nuts! (Now I’m not here to get all religious, but there are some amazing truths in this if you’ll allow it to penetrate your soul.) Here are some nuggets I wrote, that apparently, I needed to re-read again today:
- Noah endured, that was faith. His follow-through determined his faith.
- Believe the impossible.
- What does your life declare today?
- It’s not your initial yes, it’s your determination.
- It’s our perseverance, determination and focus to finish the race.
For whatever reason, the me a year ago must have known I’d need to read that today, (or maybe it was God), to stir my faith. Last night I was reminded of my purpose, my calling, of the passion’s placed in me years and years ago. I want to share a little about it with you in this video. Enjoy 🙂
It’s no easy task going through the emotions of struggle. Some days are good, some just plain suck. And sometimes, you almost seem to get a little lost in your way. That has been me lately. Stuck maybe, pulled away… Yes, that’s a better description. I find that if I can grab some momentum I’m usually smooth sailing… until another situation hits me. I get rocked a bit, struggle to get to my feet, and then try to get my bearings straight to continue .
Sadly, each one of us will have a time in our life where we will come face to face with reality and need that time to just be, regroup, gain vision. Then and only then, can we come back stronger than before.
Struggle is down right hard my friends and the reality is sometimes it takes helping hands to get you up and moving forward again. If that resonates with you, be that help, if someone is reaching out to help you up, let them, you never know just what it can do for you until you try.
